TheFinca La Monedais located in the departmentTolima, near the cityIbagué, at an altitude of approximately1,790 metersabove sea level. At this altitude, moderate temperatures, clear climatic cycles and fertile soils meet – conditions that are particularly well suited for the production of elegant and expressive specialty coffees.

The farm is run byJalli Fabian Téllez Varónled, aFifth generation coffee farmersCoffee has been the livelihood of his family for decades, and the knowledge of cultivating and caring for the plants has been passed down from generation to generation. Jalli learned the work on the farm from his grandparents and parents at an early age and developed a deep understanding of the connections between terroir, variety, and quality.

A defining moment for the development of La Moneda was the year2016When a severe drought forced Jalli to adopt new approaches, he began to strategically develop his farm, focusing more on quality and differentiation. His exposure to new varieties – particularly Gesha – marked the beginning of a consistent focus on quality and a more conscious approach to all farm work.

Today La Moneda comprises approximately12.5 hectares, of which approximately8 hectares of coffee plantation. Work on the farm is characterized byCare, selective harvesting and a clear focus on the respective flavor profile of the varieties.The goal is to produce coffees that clearly reflect origin and character without losing their natural balance.

The quality of work at La Moneda has been recognized on several occasions:2023Jalli Fabian achieved a placement among theTop 10 of the first Expo Tolimaand was a finalist in the competition“Colombia, Land of Diversity”, which culminated in an international auction. Today it is consideredPioneers of quality-oriented coffee cultivation in Tolimaand as an example of how a willingness to innovate and family tradition can work together successfully.
