Green coffee - Colombia - Soto Blend - Caturra/Colombia - washed

Nariño, Colombia is home to a community of dedicated coffee farmers whose livelihoods are intertwined with the region's lush landscapes. Nestled in the highlands, these coffee farmers carefully cultivate Arabica beans, taking advantage of the ideal conditions of volcanic soil and a favorable climate.

This amazing blend was created by Jesús Vallejo, a third generation coffee farmer from Sotomayor, Nariño. Jesús grew up among coffee cherries and after some time working on the family farm and at the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC), he decided to start his own business. His goal: to help other farmers get better prices for their coffees. We met Jesús in 2019 through a mutual friend and have been working together ever since. In 2023 we decided to join forces and support as many farmers as possible, reaching about 20 farms this year. For 2024 the goal is to increase that number and continue paying better prices to the people we reach.

What makes Nariño special is not only the exceptional quality of its coffee, but also the sustainable and ethical practices used by the local coffee community. Many of the coffee plantations in Nariño use eco-friendly and organic farming methods, demonstrating a commitment to both the environment and the local people.

The farms from which this blend comes are between 2 and 7 hectares in size and mainly grow the Caturra, Bourbon and Castillo varieties.
